The Fairy Realm is open to all elements of nature: starting with earth, air, fire & water. Their touch can be felt all around us in a very subtle way, like the wind blowing softly through our hair or the gentle touch of a spirit passing by us.

To invite them into our yards, we need to help open our garden gates to them & welcome them in by:

1. Spending some quality time with them & meditating on the sounds & admiring nature that surrounds us.
2. Have your garden look like an extension of your inner home by personalizing it with items you love.
3. Keep up on the cleaning of the garden by dead heading all flowers and keeping it weed free, as you would inside your home.
4. Plant an area of your garden with an assortment of wild flowers; let them do their own thing each year so that fairies can come freely.
5. Put baskets of purple lobelia out so as to attract the many varieties of butterflies & create a butterfly garden.
6. Have a fountain with running water to attract birds. Hibiscus and their many bright colors will attract hummingbirds which are highly connected to the fairy realm.
7. Find little hiding places for such items as crystals, like the fairy stone so that dragonflies can find a resting place to perch on.
8. Keep the child within you alive by connecting with nature & giving back to it what you take from it.
9. Sing & listen to the music that nature supplies us with and pay attention and you can hear their whispering chants.
10. Keep a garden journal and record the things that you see and hear as you partake in your sacred space. Don't forget to add to the atmosphere with some fairy statuary .....

Fairies are the spirits of the air that work through the birds. They help us to open ourselves up to wisdom. You need to take care of the birds by putting bird baths, houses, & of course different varieties of bird food and feeders.

Many of these spirits come to us through the birds that visit our gardens.

A feather is a gift given to you from this realm. Call upon it's magic for good fortune. You can also make a fairy realm prayer stick with a branch of holly & the griffin feather. This is protective to the fairies & elves that live in your garden & acts as their guardian. Hummingbirds are highly significant of the fairy realm as their species are known by names such as; wood nymph & also the purple crowned fairie. Attract hummingbirds with special feeders & with flowers of bright reds, pinks, & oranges throughout your flower beds.

The swisher, is also known as a night hawk. Associated with the fairies & elves and the awakening spirits often seen and used as a vehicle to transport those of the fairy realm.

Another of the fairy realms highest association with folklore is the butterfly. They appear to dance as they land upon the flowers and they bring joy into everyone's life that they touch with their many brilliant colors.

Also included in this dominion are the dragonflies and damselflies and of course, the creatures of the night known as the fireflies. They bring their magic as well as their mysticism and they all take part in making up the enchantment of the fairy realm. Enjoy your garden now as the season is a very short one.
